As indicated, the Microsoft security
department recommends that Windows Live or Outlook passwords be changed at
intervals of no more than 90 days. When you change the password for an Outlook
account, you will change the password for all Windows Live services.
Step 1: Start your computer's web browser
and then enter the Windows Live Outlook login URL in the browser's address bar.
Step 2: Select the name located in the
upper right corner of the Outlook home page (Windows Live).
Step 3: When a list appears, choose the
Outlook account.
Step 4: Choose your account and, if
prompted to log in again, enter your current password. Then, click on the
"Login" menu option.
Step 5: Select the "Change" menu
option located under the password reset information header.
Step 6: Enter your previous password and
then enter a new password in the appropriate text field in the dialog box shown
below. You must confirm the entry in a separate entry box.
Step 7 – Click on the “Save” menu button to
save your new password.
Step 8 - Then you will return to the
Windows Live login page.
Step 9: Log in to your Outlook account with
your new password.
